Silent Auction 2019

Back in April I worked with Hyde Park Montessori on their annual silent auction and potluck to encourage the largest turn out both in community and donations, to date. I was fortunate enough to have one of the school board members, Mary, to help with the donation side while I focused on organizing the program and communicating with the school families.

Just a dad and his dinosaur looking for the best silent auction items!

Hyde Park is not a formal school in presentation, so I decided it was appropriate to share important information through the school newsletter. I also created coloring page take-home invite for students that featured a spring flower to color on the backside. The though behind this was that the families would be more interested going to the silent auction event thanks to a personalized invitation from their child.

The newsletter information was spread out over three months, February to April. In the February letter we included a save the date + donation letter. In the March letter we included the official invitation, and then in April we sent a reminder with a one-sheet teaser of what would be available at the auction.

It was a wonderful evening for the community, and we raised just over $2500 for our Teacher’s Continuing Education Fund.
